COMMUNITY DAY 2009

Pack 33 is mobilizing on Sunday, April 19, 2009 to help beautify one of our important local resources, Sheldrake Environmental Center.  Sheldrake is not only a wonderful nature preserve, but is also home to various migrating birds as well as fish.  In addition to pitching in, Scouts will enjoy getting a bass fishing demonstration and learning about the ecology and animal life at Sheldrake.

The clean up is from 2-5pm. The fishing and ecology programs will be scheduled as follows; try to arrive 30 minutes (Tigers) to 60 minutes (others) before your program for clean up:

2:30 Tigers

3:30 Wolves

4:30 Bears & Webelos

You can come for clean up anytime, but space in the fishing/ecology programs may be limited, so please try to arrive before your assigned time and help in the clean up for at least 30-60 mins before, after or both.

This is an event especially for Pack 33 (including their parents and siblings), although the local Boy Scout Troop may join us.  All Scouts must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

Scouts should be dressed in uniform or Pack 33 t-shirt.  All participants should wear heavy shoes/old sneakers/boots and clothing appropriate for the weather, and bring gloves (for safety when picking up trash).

Refreshments and clean up materials will be provided, and local volunteers will be on hand to assist.

Sheldrake is located at 685 Weaver St, on the left as you leave Larchmont, across from the Bonnie Briar golf course.  There is a small parking lot; you can also park on Bonnie Way, the street right before the Sheldrake entrance.
